Research

My research utilizes models from behavioral ecology with an emphasis on risk-sensitivity to explain human behavior in the past and present. I am currently working on projects that examine how people’s risk preferences impact their economic behavior during periods of conflict and climate change. My regional foci are the Nasca Highlands of Peru and the Colorado Plateau. Additional specialties include osteology, isotope chemistry, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and quantitative methods.
